Collection: Moonstones

Moonstones are a variety of the gem material feldspar. They come in a variety of colors, but most often they are found showing milky white to clear.  Only the finest quality Moonstones are free of inclusions and cracks. If you happen upon a Moonstone that is clear of these and seems quite reasonably priced (read cheap), question your source. 

A wonderful feature of Moonstones is their chatoyance, the way light plays with the gem to show a "cat's eye" effect.

In metaphysical and spiritual circles, Moonstones are said to represent new beginnings, hope and the divine feminine.

They usually come in at around 6.0 - 6.5 on the Mohs hardness scale, about the same as Amethyst.
