Collection: Peridot

Peridot has been a prized gemstone since the time of the Egyptians. Today they are found all over the word, though are becoming harder to acquire.  The gem symbolizes compassion and is associated with the Heart chakra.  Ranging in color from pale greenish gray to today's popular bright golden green, the stones are very polarizing.  While they are the birthstone for August, people either love them or hate them, so use caution if buying a Peridot for a gift.   For hardness, they range from 6.5 - 7 on the Mohs scale. They are suitable for jewelry, though some care should be used to avoid scratching.
