Collection: Sapphires

Pretty and durable, sapphires are ideal for jewelry that will be worn daily. They are among the hardest gemstones to scratch, coming in with a 9 on the Mohs scale for hardness.  They are in the in the corundum family along with rubies.  Sapphires come in a large variety of colors besides the traditional blue.  We have purples, pinks, yellows, greens and a few of the very rare Padparadschas.  Almost all of our sapphires are from  a mine in Rantapura, Sri Lanka that we have actually visited and know the miners personally.   We also have a selection of Montana sapphires cut by Cole from the Rock Creek and the Lewis and Clark mines.
